The most recently approved minutes from the June 7th regular Board Meeting are now available for viewing on our website at www.bchoa.org.  Our website has a member login tab that provides members with secure access to their homeowners billing, personal information, and community information. 

The community information includes:

  • Annual and Board Meeting Minutes
  • Homeowner Information (including Auditors’ Reports, Annual Budgets and the Investment Policy)
  • Beautiful Oak Living (back issues of the monthly magazine)

All members that have never created a login will follow the following process:

  • To get logged in go to our website at  www.bchoa.org and click the tab “login” in the upper right corner on the home page. 
  • You will be prompted for an ID# and password to gain access.  
  • The ID# is your Homeowner member # (five or six digits).  This member ID# may be obtained from the BCHOA office at 985-231-6285. 
  • Your password will be your last name all in lower case.  
  • The system will next prompt you to set up a new password.

UPDATE: LA Highway 22 Drainage Improvements Project & Beautification Project

Beau Chene HOA held a town hall meeting on October 2nd at the Beau Chene Country Club.  Speakers included Patrick McMath, State Senator for District 11; Kim Carver, State Representative District 89; Kathy Seiden, Parish Councilwoman for District 4; Dalton Williams, DOTD District 62 Engineer Administrator; and Chris Hnatyshyn, Executive VP of Kyle Associates, LLC. The topics discussed were the Hwy. 22 Drainage project and the Hwy. 22 Beautification project.  

Here is the status of the drainage project:
The scope of the project is to redirect the drainage (rainwater runoff) on both sides of Hwy 22 starting at Dalwill Dr. on the south side and On Path Credit Union on the north side and prevent it from flowing into Beau Chene Subdivision via the 36” pipe leading under the subdivision fence behind Take 5 Oil Change. Instead, the drainage will be sent under the highway near the Causeway 190 intersection and south to Bayou Chinchuba. Additionally, two 36” pipes that currently bring water from the south side of  Hwy 22 to the north side and into Beau Chene will be closed off.  (See the attached map of Hwy 22 with the project scope indicated in pink lines)

This $10 million dollar project was designed by Kyle Associates, LLC and is currently under final comment period by LA DOTD.  The goal is to get the project bids out and a contract finalized by the end of 1st quarter next year.  Construction is estimated to take 12-14 months.  

This project will directly benefit Beau Chene drainage in the eastern portion of the community including Acadian Lane, Evangeline Drive, & Maringouin Lane and reduce a significant portion of runoff flowing currently downstream into Bayou Tete L’Ours. 

Status of the beautification project:
Senator Patrick McMath was successful in obtaining state funds totaling $500,000 to be allocated for a beautification project along Hwy 22 bordering our Beau Chene community.  These dedicated funds were included in St. Tammany Parish’s capital budget for 2024 because the parish will manage the project.  Kyle Associates, LLC has been hired to create the scope and design of this project.  Just a week ago, they had the property surveyed.  The next steps include creating guidelines for location, type of plantings/vegetation, etc…

Francine Weather Update

As of 8 AM Thursday, September 12, 2024, conditions in Beau Chene are the following:

-> At this time the whole community has power. 

-> All streets are passable with the exception of Tete L’Ours Drive by the bayou.

-> Our water and wastewater systems are fulling functioning.

-> Northshore Disposal is picking up Garbage today!

Per our weather gauges, we received approximately 8 inches of rain yesterday and a max wind gust of 64 mph.  I want to commend our BCHOA Public Works Staff for doing an outstanding job in response to Hurricane Francine.  Four of our staff members stayed onsite through the night Wednesday, September 11th. Our staff have worked this morning to move any tree debris off roads and are monitoring all of our water and sewer system assets. 

We were very fortunate that most of Beau Chene experienced very short power outages (5-10 minutes).  We have several mobile diesel generators ready to use in case of a power outage.  However, we were able to manage the situation mostly without them.

Due to the prompt response time of our Public Works staff, our systems (water and sewer) remained fully operational throughout this event.

BCHOA Office Closed – Inclement Weather

Due to the expected storm impact from Hurricane Francine, our office will be closed all day Wednesday, September 11th.  We expect to reopen on Thursday, September 12th weather permitting. 

There will be NO Yard Trash pickup on Wednesday!

Keeping You Informed – Storm Francine Prep

The BCHOA is watching the news carefully and monitoring the forecasts for Tropical Storm Francine.  The storm is predicted to start impacting our area starting late Tuesday through Thursday. There is the potential for winds of 30 to 40 mph and rainfall of up to 4-6 inches.  

In anticipation of possible tropical-storm-force winds, we are closing the right-hand member lanes at all three of our entrances and disabling the barrier gate security arms. This measure is to prevent wind damage of the automated gate arms. The right-hand member lanes will be closed starting Tuesday evening at 9:45 PM and remain closed through Thursday, September 12th.  

BCHOA Public Works (PW) Staff have implemented storm protocols including:

  • Inspection of all community drainage ditches and culverts and debris removal if needed
  • All equipment is fueled and tested including generators, chain saws, pumps, trackhoe, backhoe, dump truck and trailers 
  • Adequate diesel and gasoline fuel is stored to operate equipment & generators through the storm’s potential impact
  • BCHOA Storm Protocols for water and sewerage locations are implemented

This is a message only hotline to keep residents – especially evacuated residents – informed of conditions in Beau Chêne and is only active during storm events.  Please refrain from leaving messages when calling this number.

The BCHOA Emergency Notification System (ENS) will be used if circumstances require an immediate notification. ENS messages may be needed if a road becomes blocked with debris or flood waters.

One thing that I noticed during our meeting last Friday was how many, “Glad to be here!” comments were made by our directors during the introductions.  With this passion, I know that we will continue to make Beau Chene the best that it can be!

As we transition into this new leadership, our focus this next year will be on infrastructure and community engagement.  We have several immediate areas that we have already begun work on; storm water coming into our community, and a community survey that should guide us over the next five years.  More to come in the next few days as we solidify our work and have firm plans to share.

BCHOA Election Reminder – Deadline Friday, May 10th

Dear Property Owners,

Your vote matters!  All property owners should have received the 2024 Ballot materials for the election of four (4) Directors in the mail.  Each homeowner has the privilege and right to vote for their BCHOA Directors.  Your vote also counts toward the establishment of a quorum for the transaction of business at the Annual Meeting.  Carefully review the materials and cast your vote according to the instructions contained in the mailing.  Ballots must be submitted in the custom printed postage prepaid envelope provided in the mailing.  All ballots must be received by The Ballot Box by May 10th to be counted.  The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Meeting of homeowners on May 15th.

BCHOA Good Friday Holiday Notice
